It Started With One Uncomfortable Question
Why do we feed our pets food we would never dare to eat ourselves?
Human food has evolved so much. We read labels, question ingredients, avoid ultra-processed food, and think deeply about what goes into our bodies. But when it comes to pet food, the same level of transparency and care has often been missing — even though our pets are not "just pets." They are family.
This Felt Personal
As pet parents ourselves, we knew exactly what it felt like to constantly wonder: Are we feeding them the right thing? Are we doing enough? Are these ingredients actually good for them?
Between our Persian cat June, our Indie cats Batuk and Miu, our Labrador Lucy, and our Husky Rio — the question was never abstract. It was daily.
We were tired of confusing labels, unrecognizable ingredients, and ultra-processed products designed more for shelf life than for biology, health, and daily nourishment. We were tired of seeing fillers, artificial additives, synthetic preservatives, and vague claims being passed off as nutrition.
So we decided to build something better.
Who We Are
Founded by Barbie and Akansha — lifelong animal lovers and dedicated pet parents — Whisker & Wilde was created for pet parents who want honest answers, not guesswork. We wanted to bridge the gap between convenience and real nutrition: food and treats that feel as thoughtful, functional, and trustworthy as the choices we now make for ourselves.
Our Approach to Nutrition
Our functional toppers are built around a simple belief: health is not something we should only think about when problems appear. It is something we support every single day.
That is why our toppers are designed to promote daily wellness, while also supporting specific needs — gut health, joint health, skin and coat health, immunity, and overall vitality. Every formulation has been developed with practicing animal nutritionists and veterinarians, combining food science with carefully selected functional actives, botanicals, and real protein sources.
More than 50% of our topper formulations come from high-quality protein sources such as human-grade chicken and liver, because we believe nutrition should respect the biology of cats and dogs — functional, but also delicious enough for even the fussiest pets.
Our Treats Philosophy
Treats should nourish, not harm.
Most treats in the Indian market are highly processed — filled with sugar, salt, artificial colours, synthetic preservatives, and unnecessary additives. We took the opposite approach: clean, simple, and purposeful.
Our treats are made with single-ingredient proteins such as human-grade chicken or ocean anchovies, paired with functional superfoods like blueberry, cranberry, and turmeric. Nothing unnecessary. Nothing hidden. Just real ingredients with real purpose.
